From the B&B Maison Il Melograno you can easily reach the historic center of the Republic of San Marino by car or public transport (bus). The most scenic, fast and adventurous way is to use the cableway that starts from Borgo Maggiore. Leave the car in the adjacent parking lot, get on board the transport cabins and start a steep uphill: the short route offers a wonderful view of over 200 km of the Adriatic coast. Once you reach your destination, you will find yourselves directly in the heart of the capital: a small jewel of atmospheres and art treasures enclosed in narrow streets and alleys full of stores, craft shops, museums and medieval buildings. You will breathe everywhere an ancient atmosphere from “once upon a time”. At sunset, the hilly landscape offers different colors in every season, creating an evocative show.
Cultural Itinerary
In the oldest Republic of the world, whose historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008, you cannot miss a visit to the Government Palace, (Palazzo del Governo, the center of the political life of San Marino), to the Basilica del Santo (the main church of the village dedicated to its founder) and to the State Museum (which contains more than 5,000 historical and artistic pieces linked to the history and legend of San Marino).
